Lazzaro Lido Sogno is an excellent quality coastal bathing water located in Motta S. Giovanni, Calabria. The beach features a sandy-gravelly composition with articulated coastline geomorphology. The area faces agricultural territories to the north of the inhabited center of Lazzaro.

Location

Motta S. Giovanni, Reggio Calabria province, Calabria region. The bathing area is situated north of the Lazzaro town center, facing the Oliveto stream outlet.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. The area is monitored by regional authorities including Arpacal. Wastewater treatment is provided by the Motta San Giovanni treatment plant.

Risks

Potential pollution source identified at the Oliveto stream outlet. Short-term pollution events have been characterized as accidental treatment plant failures or overflow from the Motta San Giovanni treatment plant. Anomalous situations and harmful algal blooms have not occurred in the preceding four years.
