Water

Lake Paladru is a freshwater lake fed by the Courbon and Ruisseau des Marais watercourses. Transfer times from the Courbon to the lake vary from approximately 2–5 hours under normal dry conditions and 0.5–2 hours during summer storms.

Location

Lake Paladru is situated in the Communauté d'agglomération du Pays Voironnais region. Four designated bathing sites are present: Paladru, Pin, Charavines, and Montferrat.

Facilities

Available amenities at bathing sites include lifeguard services, toilets, showers, and disabled access facilities.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified according to EU Directive 2006/7/CE standards based on bacteriological analysis of E. coli and enterococci. Historical analysis spans from 1996 to 2022. Quality classifications range from excellent to poor. The bathing sites show varying sensitivities to cyanobacteria. Water quality is influenced by rainfall and hydrological parameters.

Risks

Cyanobacteria sensitivity is identified as a risk factor at the bathing sites. Water quality deteriorates following rainfall events. Collective and non-collective sewage systems and other pollution sources have been identified in the catchment area.
