Water Quality

Water quality monitoring conducted from 2000–2010 shows bacteriological assessments. The 2006 European directive standards have been applied. Self-monitoring results were collected from 2003–2010. Potential for macro-algae and phytoplankton proliferation has been evaluated. Potential pollution sources identified include wastewater networks, storm water systems, coastal streams, and diffuse agricultural pollution.
