Lido Adriano is a bathing beach located 500 metres north of the mouth of the Fiumi Uniti river in the Ravenna area. The beach is 65 metres wide and extends from 930 metres north of the river mouth to the mouth itself. The area is backed by sparse residential development with agricultural land in the hinterland. Beach sediment is regularly repositioned for beach profiling, and the breakwaters were refurbished in spring 2024.

Coastal marine water in a flat alluvial area with high stability. The bathing area covers 0.435 square kilometres.

Location

Ravenna, Emilia-Romagna region, in the Ravenna province. The bathing area extends from 930 metres north of the Fiumi Uniti river mouth to the river mouth itself.

Facilities

No infrastructure or services are provided at this bathing area.

Season

Monitoring occurred during bathing seasons 2021–2024. No anomalous situations were recorded during these seasons.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified as Excellent for the reference years 2021–2024. Escherichia coli levels: 90th percentile 40 CFU/100 ml, 95th percentile 52 CFU/100 ml. Intestinal enterococci levels: 90th percentile 30 CFU/100 ml, 95th percentile 39 CFU/100 ml. No direct discharges or watercourses enter the bathing water profile area.

Risks

Heavy rainfall can introduce pollutants into the Fiumi Uniti river, which discharges to sea south of the bathing area. The nearby river mouth may cause eutrophication. Phytoplankton blooms of Fibrocapsa japonica were recorded from 2015–2018 but no events have been reported in recent years. Macroalgae blooms, particularly of the genus Ulva, occurred in the central-northern coastal section during July–August 2018, affecting recreation during biomass accumulation phases. No cyanobacterial eutrophication events have been recorded.
