Lido Adriano is a bathing area on the central-southern coastal stretch near Ravenna in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy. The beach extends from the Campeggi di via Fontana to 930 metres north of the United Rivers mouth and features a 70-metre width. The area alternates between bathing zones and campsites with light tourist facilities, backed by sparse residential development. The beach experiences erosion that is managed through sand replenishment interventions.

Location

Lido Adriano, Ravenna, Emilia-Romagna, Italy. The bathing area extends from the Campeggi di via Fontana northward to 930 metres beyond the United Rivers mouth. Coordinates: centre at 12.3116°E, 44.4166°N.

Facilities

18 bathing establishments with first aid services, sanitary facilities including disabled access, hot showers, no architectural barriers, sports facilities, and food and beverage outlets.

Water Quality

Water quality classified as Excellent (reference years 2015–2018). Escherichia coli: 30 CFU/100 mL (90th percentile), 39 CFU/100 mL (95th percentile). Enterococci: 31 CFU/100 mL (90th percentile), 40 CFU/100 mL (95th percentile). No direct discharges or watercourse inflows into the bathing water are present.

Risks

During 2015–2018, proliferation of macroalgae of the genus Ulva occurred in July–August 2018 in the central-northern coastal stretch. No cyanobacterial eutrophic phenomena or phytoplankton toxic events were recorded. Beach erosion is present but maintained in equilibrium through sand replenishment.
