Lido Spina - punto B is a sandy beach of significant tourist interest located in the Ferrara province of Emilia-Romagna, Italy. It forms part of a 5.7 km stretch of homogeneous coastline between Porto Garibaldi Canal to the north and Bellocchio Canal mouth to the south. The beach is 260–270 metres wide and in equilibrium with no protective barriers. The surrounding area experiences high tourist activity with numerous hotels and beach establishments.

Location

Comacchio municipality, Ferrara province, Emilia-Romagna region. Located between Porto Garibaldi Canal (north) and Bellocchio Canal mouth (south). Coordinates: 12.2568°E, 44.6521°N.

Water Quality

Water quality classified as Excellent (reference years 2015–2018). Escherichia coli at 90th percentile: 17 CFU/100 ml, at 95th percentile: 19 CFU/100 ml. Intestinal enterococci at 90th percentile: 44 CFU/100 ml, at 95th percentile: 62 CFU/100 ml. No direct discharges or watercourses entering the bathing water. No pollution sources from point discharges identified.

Risks

Macroalgae proliferation of Ulva genus occurred in July–August 2018 in the north-central coastal stretch, causing modifications to beach use during biomass accumulation. No phytoplankton blooms of Fibrocapsa japonica reported during 2015–2018. No cyanobacterial eutrophic phenomena ever reported. Animal access regulated by Regional Beach Ordinance and municipal ordinances.
