Lido Estensi - punto B is a sandy beach of significant tourist interest located in the Emilia Romagna region. It forms part of a homogeneous 5.7 km stretch of coastline bounded to the north by Porto Garibaldi Canal and to the south by Bellocchio Canal. The beach has a width of 380–480 m and shows beach accretion with seaward advancement of the shoreline. The surrounding area has high tourist use with numerous hotels and beach establishments.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified as Excellent (reference years 2015–2018). Escherichia coli 90th percentile: 14 CFU/100 ml, 95th percentile: 15 CFU/100 ml. Intestinal enterococci 90th percentile: 23 CFU/100 ml, 95th percentile: 28 CFU/100 ml. No short-term pollution events were recorded during the bathing seasons 2015–2018. No anomalous situations occurred during bathing seasons 2015–2018.

Risks

Macroalgae proliferation (genus Ulva) occurred in July–August 2018 in the centre-northern coastal section, causing modifications to beach use conditions during biomass accumulation. Phytoplankton (Fibrocapsa japonica) showed no recorded blooms during 2015–2018. No cyanobacterial eutrophication phenomena have been reported.
