Lido Lago is a sandy bathing area located in Battipaglia, Campania, featuring tourist structures along the beach. The coast is low-lying with residential settlements and moderate urbanization. Extensive agricultural areas and cattle farms extend inland. A drainage canal outlet is present in this stretch of coast.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2020–2023 monitoring period). Two biological wastewater treatment plants with activated sludge systems serve the area: one in Tavernola discharging to the Tusciano River (treating approximately 60% of total effluent), and one on Via Bosco Fili discharging to the Santa Chiarella canal (tributary of Tusciano River).

Risks

Multiple untreated urban wastewater discharges from Battipaglia and Montecorvino Rovella municipalities flow into the Tusciano River and its tributaries (Vallemonio, Cornea, Piesco, S. Pietro, Canala, Acquolella, and Marmo streams), either directly or indirectly affecting the bathing area. Approximately 60% of effluent from the Tavernola treatment plant is discharged untreated to the Tusciano River.
