Plage du Loup is an artificial sand beach located in Villeneuve-Loubet in the Alpes-Maritimes department. The beach is 238 metres long and 35 metres wide. It is situated in an urbanised area with a pedestrian promenade and nearby amenities. The beach is tobacco-free and offers disabled access facilities.

Toilets, showers, water sports base, restaurant. Disabled access available (Handiplage level 1). Animals not permitted on beach.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2023). Historical classifications show Bonne (2020–2022). No risk of cyanobacteria proliferation or macro-algae proliferation. Phytoplankton proliferation risk is low due to the open nature of the area. Temporary closures occurred in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2020, and 2023 due to storm events or poor analysis results.

Risks

Storm episodes have triggered preventive closures. Potential pollution sources include the Loup river, the Vallon du Pied de Digue, wastewater network discharges, stormwater runoff, and animals on the beach. Risk level estimated as low to moderate.
