Lübbesee is a natural lake located southeast of Templin on the southeastern edge of the Mecklenburg Lake District. The lake measures approximately 10 km in length and averages 300 m in width, with a winding course from southeast to northwest. Around two-thirds of the lake lies within the Schorfheide-Chorin Biosphere Reserve, with the remaining third in the Uckermärkische Seen Nature Park. The lake has achieved an excellent water quality classification consistently from 2016 through 2024.
