Marina di Ravenna is a coastal bathing area extending from the southern breakwater of Porto Ravenna's Candiano Canal to the beginning of breakwater structures at Punta Marina. The beach width varies from 100 to 200 metres from south to north. The area features numerous bathing establishments, campsites, and light tourist facilities along the coast, with shrubby vegetation and scattered trees inland transitioning to salt marshes and agricultural land further from shore.

Ravenna, Emilia-Romagna region, Italy. The bathing area extends along the coast near Porto Ravenna and Punta Marina.

Facilities

51 bathing establishments with first aid services, toilets accessible for disabled persons, hot showers, barrier-free access, sports facilities, and food/beverage points. Lifeguard corridors present at Bagni Coco Loco, Tequila, Oasi, Associazione Nazionale Marinai d'Italia, and Bagno Baloo.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (reference years 2018–2021). Escherichia coli 90th percentile: 12.28 CFU/100 ml; 95th percentile: 12.92 CFU/100 ml. Intestinal enterococci 90th percentile: 10.00 CFU/100 ml; 95th percentile: 10.00 CFU/100 ml. No direct discharge points or watercourses discharging into the bathing water. No short-duration pollution events recorded during swimming seasons 2018–2021.

Risks

The Canale del Molino discharges near Punta Marina via a pump station operated only during extreme weather events, with potential for eutrophication. The Canale Candiano (Canal Candiano) discharges to the north of the area between two 2.5 km breakwaters. Macroalgae proliferation (Ulva genus) occurred in July–August 2018 in the north-central coastal section. No cyanobacterial blooms reported in the last four years. No phytoplankton blooms of Fibrocapsa japonica reported 2018–2021.
