Nieder Neuendorfer See is an elongated lake-like extension of the River Havel, approximately 2.7 km long and covering 42 hectares. The Havel flows into the middle of the lake, while the Oder-Havel Canal diverges just below the inflow. The lake forms a natural boundary between Brandenburg and Berlin's northwest. As part of the Havel river system, it is a nutrient-rich water body with moderate summer transparency of approximately 0.8 meters, typically displaying high plankton turbidity.
