Nordseestrand Sahlenburg - Wattwagen is a coastal bathing site located on a geest ridge, featuring a approximately 700 metre long and 40 metre wide sand beach with a dune strip directly adjacent to the UNESCO World Natural Heritage Wadden Sea. The site offers extensive toilet and shower facilities, sporting opportunities including catamaran sailing, surfing, kitesurfing, volleyball and football fields. Swimming and bathing are monitored by the DLRG lifeguard service. A beach promenade with shops, a beach club, and access to mudflat walks and wagon rides to the island of Neuwerk are available.
