The Écoinçon aquatic park is an inflatable WIBIT-brand water park to be located in the Écoinçon area of Cressin-Rochefort commune. The bathing zone is situated on an artificial water body created by Compagnie Nationale du Rhône (CNR) works on the Rhône River in 1982, known as Lac du Lit au Roi. This bathing water profile was prepared to identify and quantify health risks in the bathing zone and to establish concrete measures for pollution control and management.

Water

Artificial water body created in 1982 by CNR works on the Rhône River, named Lac du Lit au Roi. Aquatic herbiers (aquatic plants) are present. Bathymetric measurements and depth zones have been surveyed.

Location

Cressin-Rochefort commune, Écoinçon locality, postal code 01350, in the Ain department, Rhône-Alpes region. Access and parking areas are available at the site.

Facilities

Information panels for circulation, signage for boat ramps and motorboat prohibitions, family spaces with demarcation, game areas, waste collection bins, and glass recycling containers are present. Potable water supply points are available. A restaurant with sanitation system is located on site.

Water Quality

Water quality classification follows European Directive 2006 and Directive 2013 standards. Water quality classification and bacteriological quality study have been conducted. Sampling was performed in 2020 according to CARSO protocols.

Risks

Potential pollution sources have been identified including those related to the Rhône River, wastewater systems, land use occupation, agricultural activities, industrial activities, water extraction sites, animal presence, bird presence, surface runoff, and communication routes.
