Perlsee is an artificial reservoir lake created on the upper course of the Schwarzach river. The lake's surface area varies depending on water inflow from tributaries. At low water levels, a minimum core lake of approximately 7 hectares remains, while at high water levels the lake can expand to over 70 hectares. A beach area at the adjacent campsite has supervision during normal bathing hours, while other shoreline sections are unsupervised.
