Water quality classification for 2018, 2019, and 2020 was Excellent. The water body (ES01449 PUERTO DE VILAGARCIA) has a Good or Superior ecological status, Maximum chemical status, and Good or Better overall status. The adjacent shellfish production zone GAL 09/06 (Ensemble Rianxo e Vilagarcía) has classification B. No contamination history is recorded.

Risks

No significant risk from short-duration contamination by occasional discharges associated with precipitation episodes. No significant presence of jellyfish detected during 2018–2020. No evidence of risks from phytoplankton or cyanobacteria contact.
