Maritime water body within the Noia water mass, part of the Ría de Muros e Noia river basin. The Galicia Costa hydrographic demarcation applies. The water body is in good status.

Location

Porto do Son municipality, Coruña province, Galicia, Spain. Reference locality: A Ribeira do Freixo. UTM coordinates: 505276 X, 4736297 Y (European Datum 1950, UTM 29N).

Water Quality

The bathing zone is classified as Excellent. E. coli and Enterococcus concentrations measured between 2008 and 2010 showed levels consistent with excellent water quality. The adjacent shellfish production zone GAL 08/04 Ría de Muros-Noia (Zone B) has no historical contamination records.

Risks

No significant risk from occasional discharges associated with precipitation events. No identified risk from localized discharges.
