Aguamarga is a bathing beach located in Níjar, Almería, in the Cabo de Gata coastal area of southeastern Spain. The beach stretches 350 meters in length with an average width of 30 meters and features golden sand with tranquil bathing conditions. It is situated in a protected natural area (LIC/ZEPA/Natural Park) characterized by deep rocky waters and exposed to eastern and northeast wave patterns. The beach experiences high occupancy and is classified as an urban beach.

Mediterranean coastal waters, deep rocky type, non-influenced by river contributions. Batimetry: deep waters. Substrate: gravel and rocks. Micromareal range (0–2 m). Current regime dominates toward the east, east-southeast, and east-northeast. Wave regime dominates from the east and east-northeast associated with levante wind. Exposed to wave action.

Níjar municipality, Almería province, Andalusia, Spain. Located in the Cabo de Gata coastal area. Access is available on foot and by car. The nearest sports port is San José, 25 km away.

Risks

Diffuse pollution source from land use in influence zone, built and altered surfaces. Rambla de las Viruelas and Rambla del Ferrocarril watercourses present.
