Algarrobicos is a natural coastal bathing beach located in Carboneras, Almería, along the Mediterranean coast. The beach stretches 1280 metres in length with an average width of 32 metres and features golden sand and gravel composition. Water conditions are typically calm with deep sandy waters influenced by moderate wave exposure from easterly winds. The beach remains isolated with low occupancy and is situated within a protected natural area.

Mediterranean Sea coastal waters. Deep sandy waters with sandy and rocky substrate. Micromareal tidal range of 0–2 metres. Water mass code 610020. Currents flow dominantly towards the east, southeast, and northeast. Wave regime is dominated by easterly and north-easterly winds associated with Levante wind.

Location

Carboneras municipality, Almería province, Andalusia, Spain. The beach is accessible on foot or by car. The nearest sports marina is located in Carboneras, 4 kilometres away.

Facilities

Surveillance equipment present. Signage available. Waste bins provided. Cleaning service available. No Red Cross post, no rescue equipment, no lifeguards, no toilets, no showers, no disabled access, and no maritime activities rental.

Water Quality

Water quality classified as Excellent for all monitoring seasons 2013–2016. Low-risk microbiological contamination of short duration (24 hours). Low risk from jellyfish, phytoplankton, and macroalgae proliferation.

Risks

Diffuse pollution sources from land use in the zone of influence, including built and altered surfaces, forestry, and natural areas. Three waterways (Barranco Mateo, Río Carboneras, and Rambla) drain into the area.
