Barreiros municipality, Lugo province, Galicia, Spain. Reference locality: Foz. Located within the Galicia Costa hydrographic demarcation, Costa de Lugo watershed between Ribadeo and Foz. UTM coordinates: 642125 X, 4825507 Y (European Datum 1950, UTM 29N).

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. E. coli and Enterococcus concentrations monitored from 2008 to 2010 showed results consistent with excellent quality standards. No historical contamination antecedents recorded. Adjacent shellfish production zone (GAL 01/01 COSTA LUCENSE) classified as Zone A with no antecedents.

Risks

Short-duration contamination risks from occasional discharges associated with precipitation: not significant. Localized discharge risks: not significant.
