Arenal d'Es Castell is a natural sandy beach located on Menorca in the Balearic Islands. The beach extends 650 meters in length with a gentle slope and fine sand substrate. It is a free-access recreational bathing area with high visitor numbers, primarily used by non-resident tourists on a daily basis. The water shows no currents, whirlpools, or undertow.

A natural saltwater bathing area with a width of 20 meters and a length of 650 meters. The beach has a gentle slope. The water body is classified as MEMCO1M2 and MEMCO1M6 mass of water, located between Cap de Bajolí and Punta Prima.

The beach is situated on the island of Menorca in the municipality of Es Mercadal, Balearic Islands, Spain. Pedestrian access is good. Vehicle access is good with good parking facilities available. Disabled access is good.

Water Quality

Water quality classification for 2022–23 is good. Annual water quality ratings have been excellent for 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022. Short-duration contamination incidents (under 72 hours) occurred once in 2022 but zero times in 2019–2021. No exceptional contamination events (over 72 hours) have been recorded. Floating waste accumulation is very low as of 2022.

Risks

Jellyfish occur occasionally. No phytoplankton proliferation history. No cyanobacteria proliferation history.
