Maritime water body. Beach length 120 metres, width 2.6 metres. Part of the A Mariña Este water mass within the Galicia Costa hydrographic district, Coast of Lugo between Foz and Viveiro basin.

Location

Foz municipality, Lugo province, Galicia, Spain. Reference locality: Burela. UTM coordinates: 633735 X, 4833501 Y (European Datum 1950, UTM 29N).

Water Quality

The bathing zone is classified as Excellent based on microbiological parameters. E. coli and Enterococcus concentrations show good results across the monitoring period (2008–2010). The water mass has Good ecological status. No historical contamination antecedents recorded.

Risks

Short-duration contamination risks from occasional discharges associated with precipitation events are not significant. No localized discharge risks identified.
