Bajondillo is an urban beach in Torremolinos, Málaga, extending 1,250 metres with an average width of 40 metres. The beach features dark sand and faces moderate wave conditions. It is a natural Mediterranean coastal water body influenced by Atlantic waters, located in the Andalusian Mediterranean Basin demarcation area.

Water

Mediterranean coastal waters influenced by Atlantic waters. Shallow waters with mud and sand substrate. Microtidal range (0–2 m). Currents are dominant towards the northeast. Wave regime is dominant from the east and east-southeast associated with levante wind. Moderately exposed to wave action.

Location

Torremolinos, Málaga, Andalucía. Access is available on foot or by car. Disabled access is provided.

Facilities

Red Cross post. Lifeguard equipment and surveillance team present. Toilets, showers, and rubbish bins available. Beach cleaning service provided. Signage for dangers and general orientation present. Promenade and walkways available. Nautical equipment rental available. No marina or scuba diving zone.

Water quality classification was Excelente (Excellent) for all seasons from 2013 to 2016. Short-duration microbiological contamination risk is rated as low. Diffuse pollution sources include land uses, built-up surfaces, and altered areas in the influence zone. Short-duration contamination period is 24 hours.

Risk of jellyfish is low. Phytoplankton proliferation risk is low. Macroalgae proliferation risk is low.
