Water renewal time: less than 7 days. Average wind speed: 5.24 m/s. Current direction: west-northwest. Wave conditions: moderate to windy.

Location

Located in Cadavedo, municipality of Valdés, Asturias, Spain. The beach has good pedestrian access and road access with 50–100 parking spaces available.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Good to Excellent. Microbiological monitoring results at sampling point PM1 show good and excellent sanitary quality. Blue Flag designation awarded for 2016 and 2017. Contamination risk assessed as low. All sanitary quality controls have yielded excellent results.

Risks

Pendas Frieras stream discharges into the beach and presents a diffuse contamination source. Risk classification: low. Occasional short-duration contamination episodes possible, with potential for increased bacteria, turbidity, and odours. Jellyfish occurrences rare; one incident recorded in July 2008 with Portuguese man o'war specimens. Summer 2012 saw exceptional jellyfish activity requiring red flag warnings. No subsequent jellyfish sightings recorded at Cadavedo. Microalgae and cyanobacteria proliferation risk: null. Macroalgae proliferation risk: low, occurring naturally during storms with duration equivalent to weather phenomena.
