Cala del Aceite is a natural Atlantic coastal beach located in Conil de la Frontera, Cádiz, in Andalusia. The beach is 275 metres long with an average width of 25 metres and features golden sand mixed with rocks. It experiences moderate wave conditions and is classified as semi-urban, with medium occupancy levels. The beach is situated within a protected area and has been consistently rated as excellent water quality across the 2013-2016 reporting period.

Water

Coastal Atlantic waters of the Gulf of Cádiz. Shallow waters with sandy substrate interspersed with rocks. Tidal range of 2-4 metres (mesomareal). Currents predominantly flow southwards, south-south-eastwards, and south-eastwards. Exposed to very exposed wave conditions, with dominant waves from the west and secondary waves from the south-east.

Location

Conil de la Frontera, Cádiz, Andalusia. Access available on foot or by car. The beach is located in the Litoral de Cádiz area, facing San Fernando to Cabo de Trafalgar.

Facilities

Toilets, showers, waste bins, signage present. Lifeguards not present. Red Cross post not present. Disabled access not available. No water sports rental or scuba diving zone. Nearby sports marina: Puerto Deportivo Conil.

Water quality classification: Excellent for all seasons 2013-2016. Low microbiological contamination risk of short duration (24 hours).
