Cala en Porter is a natural bathing beach located on the island of Menorca in the Balearic Islands. The beach stretches 150 metres in length and 100 metres in width with fine sandy soil and a gentle slope. It experiences no currents, whirlpools, or undertow, making it suitable for recreational swimming. The beach attracts foreign visitors on a daily basis with medium visitor numbers.

Water Quality

The bathing water has been classified as Excellent for the years 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022. The water quality status for 2007–09, 2018–19, and 2022–23 was rated as Good. No short-duration episodes of water state contamination occurred in 2019–2022. One exceptional contamination episode lasting more than 72 hours was recorded in 2022. Floating debris accumulation is very low. Identified pollution sources include 4 wastewater treatment plants without overflow relief systems, one wastewater treatment plant discharge of 985 metres length, torrents, and urban stormwater runoff.

Risks

Jellyfish occurrence is occasional. No history of phytoplankton proliferation. No history of cyanobacteria proliferation.
