Cala Sahona is a natural bathing beach on the island of Formentera in the Balearic Islands. The beach spans 97 metres in length and 115 metres in width with fine sand and a gentle slope. It experiences high visitor numbers and is used daily for recreational purposes by non-resident users. The water is free-flowing with no currents, whirlpools, or undertow.

Pedestrian access is available and good. Vehicle access is available and good. Parking is available but of regular standard. No disabled access is provided. No boardwalk is present.

Water Quality

Annual water quality classification was Excellent for 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022. Water state was rated Very Good for 2007–2009, Good for 2018–2019, and Good for 2022–2023. No short-duration pollution episodes (less than 72 hours) or exceptional pollution episodes (exceeding 72 hours) were recorded in any of the years 2019–2022. Floating waste accumulation level was Medium for 2019–2021 and High for 2022.

Risks

Jellyfish occurrence is occasional. No antecedents of phytoplankton proliferation or cyanobacteria have been recorded.
