Cala Xarraca is a natural bathing beach located on the island of Ibiza in the Balearic Islands. The beach is 76 metres long and 25 metres wide with a gentle slope and coarse sand. It is a free-access recreational bathing area used daily by non-resident visitors with medium visitor numbers. The water has no currents, whirlpools, or undertow.

Location

Cala Xarraca is situated on the island of Ibiza in the municipality of Sant Joan de Lebrija in the Balearic Islands. Vehicle access is available on a regular basis, and parking is available on a regular basis. Pedestrian access and disabled access are not available.

Facilities

Environmental control point is present at the beach centre. Lifeguards, toilets, showers, disabled access facilities, or safety flags are not mentioned.

Water Quality

Water quality classification is Excelente (Excellent) for the years 2019 to 2022. Hydrological plan status for 2022–23 is Bueno (Good). No short-duration pollution episodes (less than 72 hours) or exceptional pollution episodes (exceeding 72 hours) were recorded from 2019 to 2022. Floating waste accumulation is very low for 2019 to 2021 and high for 2022. Identified pollution sources include septic tanks, boats, and rainwater runoff from the Cap des Mossons to Punta Grossa area.

Risks

Jellyfish occur occasionally. No historical records of phytoplankton proliferation or cyanobacterial blooms.
