Playa El Camisón is a coastal bathing beach in Playa de Las Américas, Arona, Tenerife, Spain. The beach is 363 meters long and 30 meters wide, with golden sand substrate. It has a moderate wave exposure and sheltered conditions in some areas. The water body is naturally coastal and superficial, with depths ranging from 0 to 3 meters and a tidal range of 1 to 3 meters.

Water quality classification based on four-year evaluation of fecal contamination indicators (Escherichia coli and intestinal enterococci) according to RD 1341/2007. The coastal water body ES70TFTV_1 (Montaña Pelada – Barranco Seco) is in good ecological status (biological and physical-chemical). No prior contamination episodes are recorded in Náyade. Potential pollution sources include Los Cristianos sports port and commercial port, two bars, a hotel, and brine discharge from a hotel.

Risks

Diffuse pollution source from Los Cristianos sports port and commercial port. Point pollution sources include two bars, a hotel, brine discharge from another hotel, and an overflow from the El Camisón drainage system. Short-duration contamination episodes are possible: stormwater discharge and erosion from heavy rainfall, raw or treated urban wastewater from pipeline breaks or network failures, brine discharge, and accidental hydrocarbon or organic waste spills. Cyanobacteria blooms (Trichodesmium) recorded in 2004, 2010, and more intensively in 2017. No risk from jellyfish or sea urchins. No risk from macroalgae.
