Playa Cueva is a transitional bathing water zone located at the mouth of the Esva River in Valdés, Asturias. The beach measures 480 metres in length with a variable width of 210 metres and features dark sand and boulders. Water renewal occurs in less than seven days, and the site experiences moderate waves with a large tidal range exceeding 4 metres. The beach is situated within the Protected Landscape of the Western Coast and the Esva River is designated as a Special Conservation Area.
