Playa de la Casica Verde is a sandy beach located in Águilas in the Mediterranean coastal zone of the Segura hydrographic demarcation. The beach is 350 meters long with a mean width of 20 meters and features golden sand and gravel composition. Water quality was classified as excellent during the 2017-2019 monitoring period. The beach is a regenerated sandy area with moderate wave conditions.

Located in Águilas, Spain. Accessible by pedestrian access (easy) and vehicle access. Parking available with 50-100 spaces, unmonitored. Nearest main road is N-332. Nearest hospital is Rafael Méndez in Lorca, approximately 38 kilometers away. Nearest sports port is Puerto Deportivo Juan Montiel, approximately 0 kilometers away.

Facilities

Cleaning service available. Scuba diving zone present. No toilets, foot showers, showers, trash bins, tourist office, telephone, food establishment, beverage establishment, beach chair rentals, umbrella rentals, water sports rentals, nautical club, children's area, or sports area. No disabled access.

Season

Monitoring period 2017–2019 (2019 data from 16–23 September). A no-bathing recommendation was issued 16–23 September 2019.

Water Quality

Water quality classified as excellent for the 2017-2019 period. E. coli levels ranged from 0–26 UFC/100ml (2019), 0–14 UFC/100ml (2018), and 0–8 UFC/100ml (2017). Enterococcus levels ranged from 0–10 UFC/100ml (2019), 0–38 UFC/100ml (2018), and 0–98 UFC/100ml (2017). No significant toxic phytoplankton proliferation was detected during any monitoring campaign. A no-bathing recommendation was issued from 16–23 September 2019 due to suspected deficient water quality from heavy rainfall.

Risks

Jellyfish appear seasonally with variable occurrence, primarily at the beginning of spring and end of summer.
