Playa de La Devesa is a natural sandy beach located in Valencia, in the Valencian Community, Spain. The beach has a longitudinal open configuration without defense structures or a promenade. It is bounded to the north by Playa de La Garrofera and to the south by Playa del Recatí-Perellonet. The beach extends 4,923.2 meters along the high-tide line with an average width of 41 meters and is composed of sand.

Water

Maritime bathing water belonging to the Júcar River Basin District. The water body is classified as a low-accumulation coastal type. Current flows from south to north. The area experiences microtidal ranges. Annual precipitation in the zone of influence is 325.8 mm, with April being the wettest month and September the driest.

Location

Valencia municipality, Valencia province, Valencian Community, Spain. The beach is accessible by car with parking available. Access for persons with disabilities is not provided.

Facilities

Lifeguard and rescue services are available. Public free toilets and showers (foot-washing facilities) are provided. Waste bins and selective waste collection are available. The beach is marked with buoys. Disabled access is not available. No bars, chiringuitos, or accessible point services are present.

Water Quality

The water body status is classified as good. Water quality management is regulated by Royal Decree 1341/2007 implementing Directive 2006/7/CE. Weekly inspections are conducted during the bathing season to monitor visual inspection parameters and water quality aspects. Quality classifications are assessed as excellent, good, sufficient, or insufficient based on water analysis, water appearance, and beach cleanliness.

Risks

A direct discharge point, Gola de Pujol, is located at the northern boundary with mixed origin and intermittent frequency, classified as high risk. Short-duration contamination factors from rainfall, urban sewerage, and coastal discharges have been assessed as low frequency with mild impact.
