Playa del Cerezo is a maritime bathing zone located in Chilches, Castellón, in the Valencian Community. The beach has an irregular closed configuration with perpendicular and parallel breakwaters and a rigid maritime promenade. It is composed of sand and gravel with a high-accumulation low coastline. The beach extends 754.8 metres along the high tide line with a mean width of 61.3 metres.

Tidal range is microtidal. Current direction flows from south to north. The water mass is classified as coastal (CW) with a typology of 1 and is in good ecological status.

Chilches, Castellón province, Valencian Community, Spain. Access to the beach is available. Disabled access and accessible facilities are provided. Parking is available.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified as excellent. The bathing water mass is managed under Royal Decree 1341/2007 and Directive 2006/7/CE. Monitoring shows the water quality is classified as excellent for the years 2020–2023. No direct discharges to the coastline affect water quality. Potential short-term contamination risks from rainfall, urban sewage, and coastal discharges are rated as low frequency with minor impact.

Potential short-term contamination risk factors include rainfall (low frequency, minor impact), urban sewage (low frequency, minor impact), and coastal discharges (low frequency, minor impact). Rivers and canals, industrial facilities, port facilities, and diffuse pollution are all present at low frequency with minor impact. Cyanobacteria proliferations are not typical in coastal waters. Phytoplankton and macroalgae blooms may occur in areas with poor water renewal.
