Playa des Viver is a bathing area located on the island of Menorca in the Balearic Islands. The beach is situated in the municipality of Es Mercadal and borders the Badia de Fornells water body. The bathing area has maintained an Excellent annual water quality classification from 2019 through 2022.

Location

Located on Menorca in the municipality of Es Mercadal, Balearic Islands. The sampling point is positioned in the centre of the beach.

Water Quality

Annual water quality classification: Excellent (2019–2022). Water quality state assessment: Aceptable (2007–2009), Aceptable (2018–2019), Moderado (2022–2023). One short-duration pollution episode (<72 hours) recorded in 2019 and one in 2022. One exceptional pollution episode (>72 hours) recorded in 2020. Floating debris accumulation levels: Media (2019–2021), Baja (2022). No point source discharges or other described pollution sources.

Risks

Occasional cyanobacteria occurrence. Jellyfish recorded occasionally.
