Water Quality

Bathing zone classified as excellent. Microbiological monitoring shows E-coli concentrations declining from approximately 1500 ufc/100ml in 2008 to around 500 ufc/100ml by 2010. Enterococcus concentrations remained low throughout the monitored period. No historical contamination antecedents identified. Adjacent shellfish production zone (GAL 09/08 ENSEADA DE O GROVE) classified as zone B with no contamination antecedents.

Risks

No significant risks identified from short-duration contamination events associated with precipitation or localised discharges.
