Playa El Muelle is a 50-meter long and 25-meter wide coastal bathing beach located in Garachico on the island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands, Spain. The beach features dark sand and gravel substrate and is exposed to wave action with calm water conditions. The beach has a maritime promenade and is accessible by foot and vehicle, though vehicle access is poor. Lifeguards and sanitation services are available during the bathing season.

Coastal saltwater body. Length 50 meters, width 25 meters. Water depth ranges from 0 to -20 meters. Substrate of dark sand and gravel. Exposed to wave action with calm water conditions. Tidal range 1–3 meters.

Location

Garachico, Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain. The beach is accessible by foot with regular pedestrian access and by vehicle with poor road access. Parking is available with regular facilities.

Water Quality

Water quality classification based on four-year evaluation of fecal indicator bacteria (Escherichia coli and intestinal Enterococci) according to RD 1341/2007. The coastal water body ES70TFTI1_1 (Punta de Teno – Punta del Roquete) is in good ecological status with good or better overall state. No contamination episodes detected.

Risks

Diffuse pollution sources from Old Fishing Port, Commercial Port and Sports Port of Garachico. Point sources from three EBAR relief systems (Muelle, Avenida Marítima - La Piscina, and one additional location). San Juan del Reparo ravine. Potential contamination from stormwater runoff during heavy rainfall, raw or treated urban wastewater from line breaks or emergencies, and accidental hydrocarbon or organic waste discharge. No risk from jellyfish, sea urchins, phytoplankton, or macroalgae.
