Nueva Andalucía is a natural Mediterranean coastal bathing beach in Marbella, Málaga, measuring 560 metres in length with an average width of 40 metres. The beach has golden sand (Dorana type) and experiences moderate wave conditions with exposure to easterly and south-easterly winds. It is a semi-urbanised beach with high occupancy during the bathing season.

Water

Mediterranean coastal waters influenced by Atlantic waters. Shallow water (batimetry). Sandy substrate. Microtidal range (0–2 m). Current regime dominated towards the north-east. Moderately exposed to wave action with dominant east and south-easterly waves associated with levante wind.

Location

Marbella, Málaga, Andalucía. Access is available on foot or by car. The beach is adjacent to Puerto Banús sports port.

Facilities

Lifeguards, toilets, showers, waste bins, cleaning service, nautical equipment rental, sailing club. Signage present. Wooden walkways available. No disabled access. No red cross station. No water sports zone. No scuba diving zone.

1 June to 30 September

Water Quality

Water quality classified as Excellent in all four monitoring seasons (2016–2019). Low risk of short-duration microbiological contamination (24 hours). Low risk of jellyfish, phytoplankton, and macroalgae proliferation. Diffuse pollution sources include land uses and altered built surfaces in the influence zone. Point source pollution includes an outfall. Influencing river: Lower Guadaiza.
