Maritime water body in the Galicia Costa hydrographic district. The water mass is Umia, with tranquil bathing conditions. Beach length is 42 metres.

Location

Cambados, Pontevedra, Galicia, Spain. Coordinates: UTM 29N 514085 X, 4703975 Y (European Datum 1950).

Water Quality

The water mass has been classified as in poor ecological state. Microbiological monitoring data from 2008–2010 showed E. coli and Enterococcus concentrations tracked against excellent, good, sufficient, and insufficient classification thresholds.

Risks

Risk identified for occasional discharges associated with precipitation events, with yellow alert status due to precipitation intensity. The adjacent shellfish production zone (GAL 09/08 Enseada de O Grove) is classified as Zone B with no historical contamination antecedents.
