Playa O Lago is a maritime bathing zone located in Muxía, Galicia. The beach is 689 metres long and 80 metres wide, composed of sand with moderate wave conditions and medium visitor traffic. It is situated in a semi-urbanised area within the Ría de Camariñas basin.

Muxía, Coruña province, Galicia, Spain. Reference locality: Merexo. UTM coordinates: 486530 X, 4772905 Y (European Datum 1950, UTM 29N).

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. E. coli and Enterococcus concentrations monitored between 2008 and 2010 with no contamination history recorded. No antecedents of contamination identified by historical classification or adjacent shellfish production zone (Zone B, GAL 06/04 Ría de Camariñas).

Risks

No short-duration contamination risks identified from occasional discharges associated with precipitation events or localised discharges.
