Playa O Prado is a maritime bathing zone located in Corrubedo, municipality of Ribeira in A Coruña, Galicia. The beach is 290 metres long and 25 metres wide, composed of sand with calm water conditions and medium visitor flow. It is situated in an urban area and is part of the Ría de Arousa watershed.

Maritime bathing zone. Length 290 metres, width 25 metres. Water conditions are calm. The water body is part of the Cíes-Ons water mass within the Galicia Costa hydrographic demarcation and Ría de Arousa river basin.

Location

Corrubedo, municipality of Ribeira, A Coruña province, Galicia, Spain. UTM coordinates: 493992 X, 4713522 Y (European Datum 1950, UTM 29N).

Water Quality

The water mass has good overall status. Microbiological monitoring shows E. coli and Enterococcus concentrations tracked from 2008 to 2010. The bathing zone had a minimum of one year classified as insufficient. The adjacent shellfish production zone (GAL 09/01 Ría de Arousa Exterior) has no recorded incidents.

Risks

Yellow alert risk identified for short-duration contamination from occasional discharges during heavy precipitation events. No localized discharge risk identified.
