Water quality classification: Excellent. The water body status is Good. E. coli and Enterococcus monitoring data from 2008–2010 shows consistent excellent classification with low microbial concentrations.

Risks

No significant contamination risk from occasional discharges associated with precipitation events. No localized discharge risks identified. No historical contamination antecedents. Adjacent shellfish production zone (GAL 02/03-1 Ría de Ortigueira) classified as Zone B with no antecedents.
