Poniente is a natural Mediterranean coastal bathing beach located in La Línea, Cádiz, Spain. The beach extends 575 meters in length with an average width of 20 meters and features dark sand composition. Swimming conditions are characterized by calm waters in a moderately exposed environment with microtidal conditions. The beach has moderate occupancy and is classified as urbanized with a seafront promenade.

Water

Mediterranean coastal water body influenced by Atlantic waters. Bathymetry is shallow with sandy substrate. Microtidal range of 0–2 meters. Dominant current direction towards the northeast. Wave regime is dominated by easterly and east-southeasterly winds associated with levante. Annual precipitation is 600–800 mm with a torrential index of 25–50%.

Location

La Línea, Cádiz, Andalucía, Spain. The beach is situated between coordinate points 287614/4004797 and 287894/4004368 (UTM zone 30, ETRS 89). Access is on foot. Parking information is not specified.

Facilities

Red Cross post, lifeguards, showers, signage, waste bins, cleaning service, disabled access, boardwalk, and walkways. Nautical club present. No toilets, no diving zone, no boat rental, no mooring zone. Nearby sports port: Puerto Deportivo San Felipe.
