Playa La Veneciola is a bathing beach located in La Manga del Mar Menor in San Javier. The beach is 800 metres long with a mean width of 20 metres and features golden sand. Water quality was classified as excellent during 2000–2009 and remained excellent in 2010 and 2011. The beach accommodates approximately 6,400 bathers at maximum capacity and experiences medium occupancy levels.

Water Quality

Water quality was classified as excellent for 2000–2009, 2010, and 2011. No significant pollution pressure. Toxic phytoplankton blooms are rare natural phenomena. Sampling conducted in 2008 and 2009 detected potentially toxic phytoplankton cells during some bathing season campaigns. No authorised discharges in the nearby area.

Risks

Toxic phytoplankton proliferation risk is low with short-duration episodes unlikely. Jellyfish appear seasonally with peak abundance from early spring to late summer; jellyfish production is highly variable.
