Playa y Calas de La Jaquita is a coastal bathing area located in Guía de Isora on the island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands, Spain. Playa y Calas de La Jaquita is located in the municipality of Guía de Isora on the island of Tenerife in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain. The nearest locality is Alcalá. Water Quality

Water quality classification based on evaluation of Escherichia coli and intestinal Enterococci levels collected over four years in accordance with Royal Decree 1341/2007. A microbiological contamination episode of short duration occurred from 16 to 18 September 2019. No risk from jellyfish or sea urchins. Episodes of Trichodesmium cyanobacteria proliferation documented in 2004, 2010, and more intensely in 2017. No risk from macroalgae. The coastal water mass maintains good ecological status.

Risks

Four point pollution sources identified: EDAR La Jaquita wastewater treatment plant, EDAM Hotel Palacio de Isora, Alcalá submarine pipeline, and overflow outlets 1 and 2 at Muelle Viejo de Alcalá. Barranco de La Jaquita watercourse is also a risk factor. Contamination risks include stormwater discharge from heavy rainfall and raw or treated urban wastewater from pipeline ruptures, sewer network failures, or emergency discharges.
