Water quality monitoring conducted from 2012-2017. Classification determined according to Directive 2006/7/CE. Bacteriological monitoring results recorded in annexes. Potential contamination sources identified including agricultural land use, wastewater treatment systems, stormwater outlets, and boat moorings with black and greywater collection.

Risks

Sensitivity to green algae blooms documented. Jellyfish strandings observed on the beach. Stormwater discharge outlets present in the bathing zone. Boat moorings in the bathing area. Potential fecal contamination from agricultural and wastewater sources identified in the study area.
