Porth Tywyn-mawr is a sandy beach reached via narrow country lanes, with parking for around 20 cars near a static caravan park. The flat, sandy shore exposes rocks at low tide and faces views across to Holyhead, with shipping traffic visible offshore. Dogs are permitted, and vehicle access onto the beach itself is not allowed.
