Porthbean is located near Portscatho, a short walk north from Porthcurnick beach and The Hidden Hut. The beach has sand with rock pools and retains some sand at high tide, with clear water suited to snorkelling and paddle boarding. Access is via a coastal path of approximately 1.5km from the Portscatho pay and display car park, or a shorter walk from a nearby car park; toilets and a café are available at Porthcurnick rather than on site, though a shop opens in the afternoons.
