Portisco is a bathing water area located on the Costa Smeralda in Sardinia. The beach is immersed completely in nature, situated a few kilometres from a tourist port and village. The seabed is mixed composition. The beach has a width of 10 metres and is classified as having excellent water quality.

Identified pollution sources include discharges from tourist settlements (important), diffuse urban pollution (important), ports (less important), and coastal infrastructure and shipyards (less important). Short-duration pollution events are under study with an appropriate modelling approach.
