Porto Botte is a coastal bathing water located on the Gulf of Palmas in southern Sardinia. The beach features approximately 1,500 metres of sandy shoreline complemented by a lagoon behind it. The area is designated as a marine coastal water body with an extension of 21.004 square kilometres. The bathing water is classified as having excellent quality.

Location

Porto Botte is located in the municipality of Carbonia-Iglesias in Sardinia, south of the Rio Murtas. The beach serves as the marina of Giba on the Gulf of Palmas.

Toilets available. No lifeguards or first aid assistance. No disabled facilities. No refreshment points. No sports facilities. Animals are not permitted.

Risks

River discharge from Murtas identified as a less important pollution source. A military fortification on the beach requires urgent maintenance and safety work due to structural damage to the supporting wall.
