Nový rybník is a bathing pond located in Příbram with a surface area of approximately 3.7 hectares at an elevation of 450 metres. The pond has a grassy shore transitioning to sandy beach near the water, with a sandy bottom that becomes muddy at greater depths. The beach extends approximately 400 metres and is managed as a recreational bathing facility with an annual visitor count below 1,000 people. Water quality is generally suitable for bathing, though cyanobacteria occurrence has decreased significantly since 2018.

Pond (rybník) with surface area of approximately 3.7 hectares. Located off the Příbramský stream with water inflow dependent entirely on operator manipulation. Flow rate: 0.091 m³/s; specific discharge: 4.33 l/s·km². Water retention time varies with operator control. Catchment area: 21.02 km².

Water Quality

Microbial contamination: Excellent quality according to Czech hygiene classification standards. Total phosphorus: Last documented values from 2010–2011 were 0.05 and <0.05 mg/l, supporting low levels of cyanobacteria and phytoplankton. Cyanobacteria: Maximum cell density in 2018 exceeded 900,000 cells/ml; by 2021 maximum was approximately 10,000 cells/ml, representing significant decline. Water transparency rarely drops below 1 metre. Overall assessment: Water quality is satisfactory and generally suitable for recreational bathing.

Risks

Cercarial dermatitis occurred in 2021 and appears periodically, associated with waterfowl presence. No short-term microbial contamination has been demonstrated.
